Holy Thursday Seder Meal

seder.jpg

For anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of The Last Supper and its Jewish setting.

At 6pm on Maundy Thursday (April 2), in the Mary Stevens Room downstairs, St. Simon’s will host a re-enactment of a traditional Jewish Passover Seder Meal.  This meal is part of the Passover celebration, a retelling and celebration of God's deliverance of his people of Israel from slavery, and it includes a delicious dinner.  This Seder is a learning opportunity for us all as we recognize the common Jewish heritage shared by all Christians.  The Last Supper that Jesus had with his disciples on Maundy Thursday was most likely this special meal of Passover.  Please note that we intend to be sensitive to the spirit of the Passover, a holiday sacred to our Jewish neighbors.

Please let us know so that we can have a head count for dinner.

We're asking everyone to bring a dish to share. No ham or bacon please. Email us to let us know you'll be there
